🌱 From Breakdown to Breakthrough: How My Job Situation Turned Into the Best Thing for My Purpose
Women’s Circle for Emotional Wellness
A few months ago, I shared a vulnerable post here on Scheerwonder — a real-time look into how I was using the Law of Attraction and Abraham-Hicks teachings (aka “ABE style”) to navigate a tough life moment. My job was being eliminated as of April 1st, and I promised to update you all on how things would unfold. Posting that felt scary — it’s never easy to open up about career uncertainty, especially when it triggers old fears about stability and worth. But I also knew I wanted to share this journey honestly — to walk the talk and show how manifestation, mindset shifts, and alignment really work in real life.
The Search That Drained My Spirit
I am currently still in my role but have been demoted, since my position was eliminated and was given a substantiation pay cut, so I have spent months searching for a new job that would honor my strengths — especially my deep love for helping others feel seen, heard, and cared for. My experience as a property manager showed me how much I enjoy building community and making people feel at home — not just physically, but emotionally. I knew I didn’t want just any job. I wanted purpose. Meaning. Connection.
I had interviews, I got offers… and yet, one offer that I thought would be perfect turned out to be full of red flags when I received the offer letter. The more I searched, the more discouraged I became. Companies were paying less, expecting more, and every listing started to feel like a slow death to my soul. I was angry — really angry — not just at the job market, but at how a corporate decision had impacted my life so profoundly. I felt powerless. Displaced. Disrespected. And that wasn’t me. I’m usually joyful and resourceful, but in that fog of frustration, I couldn’t find my way out.
The Idea That Changed Everything
Then, I turned to ChatGPT (aka my idea buddy and creative mirror), and we started brainstorming side income ideas. For a few days, nothing felt right. Then suddenly — a spark.
Chat suggested something that made my entire body say: YES.
What if I started hosting women’s circles — safe, welcoming gatherings where women could come together to feel seen, heard, and supported?
Immediately, I felt energized. I knew I wanted to do this. But… where? I didn’t have money to rent a space. And then, like magic, the answer came.
I asked my current employer — the one I have been so angry at — if I could use the Center space after hours to host these events. To my surprise, they said yes.
Suddenly, everything clicked. I could stay in the role I loved — at the center I love, with my amazing clients, coworkers, and my perfect 5-minute commute — and build my own emotional wellness business on the side.
Alignment Over Anger
The moment I got that “yes,” all my anger dissolved. In its place? Excitement. Gratitude. Clarity.
I could finally see the bigger picture — how this challenge wasn’t a block, but a bridge.
This solution honored the essence of everything I’d asked the Universe for:
Meaningful work that supports others’ well-being
Community and connection
A way to grow my own brand, Scheerwonder
Financial stability while I build
Freedom to express my purpose
I thought I had to choose — either take a soul-draining job to pay the bills or leap into self-employment without a net.
But the Universe showed me a third option: blend and collaborate.
Now I have a base income with my employer AND I can earn income from my own business!
The best of both worlds!!!
What I’ve Learned
This wasn’t easy. I was triggered in ways I didn’t expect — by old wounds around money, control, and fear. But I stayed self-aware, I reached for alignment in whatever small ways I could, and I kept going. And that’s all it takes — one baby step at a time.
I also learned:
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you start.
You don’t need a bunch of money to begin.
There are free tools, apps, and resources out there to help.
The Universe really will show you the way — but only when you’re ready to see it.
Where I’m Headed
Now, I have hosted my first Women’s Circle for Emotional Wellness — Evening of Wonder, a space where women can gather, speak their truths, set intentions, and feel deeply seen and supported.
I’ve seen firsthand — from years working with residents and clients — how many people suffer in silence. The loneliness is real. And it can be destructive. But I believe we can change that, together.
This is my update. But more than that, I hope it’s also a reminder for anyone going through their own breakdown:
The turnaround can come — often when you least expect it. Let go of the anger. Reach for alignment. And trust that the path will light up.
With love and Scheerwonder,
Diana
